Which song should I listen to?

I guess most of us must have faced this situation, where in apps like Spotify and apple music with millions of songs we find it difficult to find that one single song to listen to. Maybe the large number of choices are the problem 😄

The Idea

What if we have a portal where the only mode of input will be emotions like happy, sad, nostalgic, melancholic, inspirational. Once our listener enters the emotion, a song will be recommended to them. That's it. Nothing else.

A single song to based on the emotion or mood of the listener will be recommended to them.

What if that isn't the song. Well life's not fair 😄

An extension to the idea

This is a bit more complex. If we are able to introduce profiles in our platform, when the listener enters the emotion another random listener from our user base will be notified.

If our listener Tabu wants to hear a sad song. A random listerner in our user base will receive a notification in the lines of, "Hey there, Tabu wants to hear a sad song. Recommend one for her."

Somehow we will be connecting two strangers for a single song.

The Story

Personal experience. Most of the days I spent more time searching for songs than listening. Usually this ends with me listening to the same songs again and again. The scope of discovering new songs are limited.

What next?
